In order to reduce cross-border transmission of COVID-19, Chinese authorities have taken some extra measures for passengers wanting to enter China.
Starting from November 5th, 2020, all Chinese and foreign passengers flying from Belgium to China will be required to take nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests. The tests must be taken within 48 hours before check-in of the direct flight to China and the test results must be presented to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Belgium. You will then receive a green health code with the ‘HS’ mark or a Certified Health Declaration Form. After the Chinese Embassy has approved and signed the form, it must be printed out and shown to the authorities during check-in at the airport.
If you want to enter China through a transit flight from another country than Belgium, similar departure conditions apply. Check if you can meet the test conditions when planning your transit to avoid being stranded, as many transit airports don’t have testing facilities.
There are no designated testing areas, so passengers can contact a local qualified institution to get tested.
