The Anchor Group’s chairman and co-founder, the Belgian multi-entrepreneur Yannick Kalantarian has been officially appointed Honorary Consul of the Republic of Georgia in Wallonia.
Approached in 2019 by the Ambassador of the Republic of Georgia to Belgium, Luxembourg and the European Union, Her Excellency Ambassador Natalie Sabanadze, Yannick was officially appointed by the Georgian government in February 2020 and his exequatur was issued on 1 April 2020.
The family of Yannick originates from Armenia (Kalantarian – Zargarian). His great-grandparents moved at the beginning of the 20th century to Tbilisi, a city they had to leave following the Russian Revolution. Very popular in Georgia, the two families have always maintained close relations with the country.
In the memory of Michael Kalantarian, his great-grandfather, Yannick promotes actively the interstate solidarity between Armenia and Georgia.
